Brownsville TX July 28 2013 A Brownsville man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly threatened a bouncer with a BB gun minutes after getting kicked out of a nightclub.
Brownsville police arrested 22-year-old Francisco Xavier Vargas just before 3 a.m. Friday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Vargas was one of two males kicked out of the Chaparral Night Club off 1900 N Expressway 77/83.
Both Vargas and the other man were trying to get back in the club when the bouncer stopped them.
Vargas allegedly lifted up his shirt and revealed what appeared to be a handgun in his waist.
The 22-year-old allegedly then told the bouncer, "What's up?"
Vargas fled the scene but police stopped his car and arrested him on an aggravated assault charge.
Officers discovered that the gun tucked into his waist was a BB gun.
It's not clear why Vargas was so insistent to get back in the nightclub but public records show Thursday was his 22nd birthday.
