TAMPA FLA July 4 2013
A security officer employed with Weiser Security of Tampa was making a foot patrol of a business at around 10PM Monday when he noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in an employee parking lot. Knowing that the cleaning crew had just finished for the night and that no other persons were authorized to be on the property, security officer Lance Wlasiuk went to investigate.
According to the security officer, as he was nearing the back of the building, he noticed an unknown person kneeling before one of the office doors. When he attempted to challenge the person as to whom they were, he was ambushed from behind by unknown person or persons. It appears that they were hiding in the break room out of the line of sight from Lance. They struck Wlasiuk several times with an unknown object and continued to hit and punch him while he lay on the ground.
Wlasiuk received a concussion but was able to call for assistance and gave police a concise description of the suspect leading to the quick arrest of Jeremy Carter, a former employee of the business.
Carter was taken into custody by Hillsborough Sheriff’s deputies and charged with the felonies of
BURGLARY OF STRUCTURE WITH ASSAULT OR BATTERY
BATTERY ON A SPECIFIED OFFICIAL OR EMPLOYE
Carter is being held under a $2 million dollar bond.
Officer Wlasiuk has been a Weiser Security Officer since September of 2010.
