ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. June 3 2013 - A Plainwell High School teacher is facing felony criminal sexual conduct charges for an alleged relationship with a student.
The Plainwell Community School Superintendent sent out a voicemail and email message to parents last night.
The message says on March 15th, a high school teacher was placed on leave because of the investigation into misconduct with a student.
At that time, the district reported its findings to police and child protective services. The investigation has led to the arrest of the teacher.
Within hours of those messages being sent Newschannel 3's newsroom was flooded with emails and phone calls from parents.
Parents say they are upset they weren't informed about the incident earlier.
The Superintendent did say in her message to let the legal system run its course. This is a story we will continue to stay on top of.
