 Alexandria MN June 2 2013
Darcell Antony Danzeisen, 30, of Alexandria is charged with possession of a controlled substance after having a package containing marijuana delivered to Alexandria Music Store at 606 Broadway Street on Friday. Danzeisen owns the music store.
Agents from the West Central Minnesota Narcotics Task Force, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, detectives from the Alexandria Police Department and the Douglas County K-9 worked together along with the Minneapolis Airport Police to intercept the package.
A shipping company notified the Minneapolis Airport Police of a suspicious package headed to Alexandria. The airport police made arrangements with the task force for transport and delivery.
After confirmation from the K-9 unit, a search warrant was conducted and an undercover task force agent delivered the parcel containing more than three pounds of marijuana to Danzeisen.
Upon receipt of the delivery, Danzeisen placed the package in his vehicle and drove away. He was stopped by officers a short distance from the store and taken to the Douglas County Jail.
Danzeisen faces fifth degree controlled substance charges carrying a maximum penalty of up to five years imprisonment and a fine of $10,000.
