Yuma AZ April 7 2013 Yuma police have arrested three of the four suspects wanted in connection with spraying store employees with pepper spray during a shoplifting attempt Saturday afternoon.
At about 4:38 p.m., Yuma police responded to the Food City, 1240 W. 8th St., for a call of employees having been pepper sprayed. An investigation revealed that four males tried to shoplift items from the store, and when confronted, the subjects pepper-sprayed the store employees and fled the scene in their vehicle.
Officers later located the suspect vehicle at Gateway Park, 200 N. Penitentiary Ave., and searched the area. Three of the suspects were observed by officers and were taken into custody without incident at the park.
Arrested were Jeremy Rose, 19, William Murrietta, 23, and Rafael Garcia-Campuzano, 20, all of Yuma. All three were booked into Yuma County jail on charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
The fourth suspect, however, was not located in the area. He has been identified as Pedro Garcia, 23, of Yuma. Garcia is described as being a approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, 130 pounds, with a shaved head, brown eyes and a small moustache.
He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, denim shorts and black Converse sneakers. Yuma police warn anyone who may see Garcia not to approach or try to detain him and to call law enforcement immediately.
The Yuma Police Department encourages anybody with information about this case to call YPD at 783-4421, or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
