FLINT, MI April 7 2013-- A 30-year-old Flint man has agreed to plead guilty to a federal charge after he displayed a gun to a security guard at a Flint bar during a dispute earlier this year.
Terrail K. Culp agreed to plead guilty Wednesday, April 3, in Flint Federal District Court to one charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm after he showed a gun to a security guard at Arlene's Bar on North Saginaw Street during a confrontation in the early morning hours of Feb. 9.
Police were flagged down at the bar and told that Culp displayed a small silver handgun to security while making a verbal threat, according to court records.
The bar's owner told police that Culp placed the gun under a vehicle in the parking lot after the confrontation.
A Flint police officer found a .38-caliber revolver under a vehicle in the parking lot, according to court records. The bar's video surveillance showed Culp placing an object under the vehicle when officers approached.
Culp was previously convicted of delivery of less than 50 grams of a controlled substance in 2008 and possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance in 2010.
He was scheduled to be discharged from probation on the 2010 conviction March 18 -- a little more than a month after the incident at the Flint bar.
Culp's sentencing is scheduled for July 30.
