FLORENCE COUNTY, SC March 31 2025
A school security guard in Florence County is out on bond after being
charged with an alleged assault on school grounds.
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Terrence Hicks, 36, on
Friday and charged him with second-degree assault and battery.
The charge stemmed from an alleged assault on March 21 at Greenwood
Elementary School in the Florence area, where Hicks was the school security
guard.
While working, Hicks allegedly grabbed the victim’s arm “unlawfully” and
placed one wrist in handcuffs, taking the victim to the ground.
FCSO said Hicks then positioned his legs on both sides of the victim’s
head, which caused the victim’s airway to be restricted.
Hicks was booked at the Florence County Detention Center but was later
released Friday on a $3000 bond.
