Wichita, KS Jan 21 2013 —
A USD 259 security supervisor and former Wichita Police Department Sergeant is in jail, accused of indecent liberties with a child and criminal sodomy.
According to Sedgwick County Jail records, 50-year-old Alex Robinson was booked into the jail early Saturday morning on suspicion of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated criminal sodomy. He was being held on a $250,000 bond, records say.
School district spokeswoman Susan Arensman told KAKE News Robinson has been placed on administrative leave.
Robinson was a contributor to a U.S. Department of Justice manual on community policing. His biography in that document said he was a 22-year veteran of the Wichita Police Department. He retired in 2006 at the rank of Sergeant to begin working for USD 259, the biography said.
The Wichita Police Department has not commented on the arrest, nor has it released any details of the allegations against Robinson. It will likely be Tuesday before any further information is made available.
