LINDEN NJ Jan 21 2013 — Police are looking for two women who assisted a 16-year-old Brooklyn, N.Y., girl in shoplifting more than $3,000 in electronic and clothing merchandise from a Target store.
At about 4:05 p.m. Jan. 15, police responded to the Target, 621 W. Edgar Road (Aviation Plaza), on a report of a shoplifting. Officers were told that security personnel observed two women take a cabinet out of a box and fill it with electronic and computer accessories valued at $3,130.00. Among the items taken were Bose headphones, recorders, ink cartridges and scarves.
The women then walked away and a 16-year-old girl took the box to a register, where she purchased it and attempted to walk out of the store. The juvenile, a resident of Brooklyn, was taken into custody, but the two adult women had left the store.
The girl, who was uncooperative in the investigation, was charged with shoplifting and later released to a parent.
Anyone with information about the two adult women is asked to contact the Linden Police Detective Bureau at 908-474-8537 or crimetips@police.lindenes-nj.org.
