Forty-year-old Ronald Steven Bishop was arrested at 3:12 p.m. Thursday at the school and booked for investigation of communicating with a minor to commit an offense and annoying or molesting a child, jail records show. He was released Friday on $150,000 bail.
The investigation began Monday, Jan. 14, with a report of a child annoyance involving the boy, Sgt. Mike Kovaleff said in a written statement.
“Bishop was one of the victim’s teachers,” according to the statement. “Bishop was suspected of communicating via text messaging with the … victim over a period of nearly two months.
“The text messaging included harmful matter that Bishop is suspected of sending in an attempt the seduce the minor.”
Detectives obtained search warrants for Bishop’s home, vehicle and cell phone. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, Jan. 22.
