
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY Aug 7 2013 - McCracken County Sheriff Jon Hayden sent out a press release Tuesday evening, August 6 on the death of one of his deputies.
In the release, he said:
"It is with a heavy heart that I report the untimely death of 47-year-old Deputy Chad Shaw. Deputy Shaw had been at Community Christian Academy all day helping the faculty and staff prepare for their meet and greet that was scheduled to kick off the new school year. He was in uniform and was also assisting with security there."Hayden said around 6:15 p.m. Shaw collapsed at the school. He was immediately taken to a Paducah hospital where he passed away a short time later.
The McCracken County Coroner’s Office is investigating the cause of his death.
Hayden said:
"Deputy Shaw will always be remembered for his love for his family, his love for helping others, and the thoroughness in the way he did his job as a public servant for the citizens that he served. We would ask that everyone pray for his wife Margaret, and their two daughtersFlags at all McCracken County and Paducah facilities will be at half-mast starting Wednesday in honor of McCracken County Deputy Shaw.
