Keene NH Aug 5 2013 A Brattleboro man has been charged with simple assault after allegedly punching a bouncer at a Keene bar Thursday night.
Jason C. Barrows, 33, was arraigned on the misdemeanor charge in 8th Circuit Court District Division in Keene Friday morning, and has a trial date scheduled for Nov. 26. He was released on personal recognizance, according to court documents.
According to an affidavit written by Keene Police Officer Collin L. Zamore, Barrows punched Zachary Stavnezer, who was working the door at Lab ‘n Lager on Main Street, in the face after Stavnezer refused to let him back into the bar because he was too intoxicated.
After Barrows asked Stavnezer if he wanted to “get punched in the face,” Stavnezer said he was going to call the police, and then turned toward the bar tender for help in removing Barrows, Zamore wrote. While his head was turned, Barrows punched him, and then took off on foot, Zamore wrote.
Police officers found Barrows on Eagle Court and arrested him. He was held overnight in the Cheshire County jail.
