CHARLOTTE, N.C. Aug 4 2013-- FBI Charlotte is seeking the identity of the man who sprayed a chemical agent into the face of an armored truck employee in an attempt to rob the man and the vehicle of cash.
The FBI says the Loomis Fargo courier was servicing the outdoor ATM at the Bank of America branch in the 12900 block of South Tryon around noon on Friday when the attempted robbery took place.
The unidentified white male suspect, who authorities say was driving a gray or silver Jeep Grand Cherokee with tinted windows, exited his vehicle and sprayed the courier with an unidentified chemical agent and stole a courier bag. He then fled the scene in his vehicle, officials say.

At this time, authorities say it's not believed the courier bag contained any cash.
The courier received medical attention for exposure to the chemical.
The FBI description of the man is as follows: a white male wearing a "boonie hat", or a fishing-type hat, long-sleeved gray shirt and light-colored cargo pants. He also wore sunglasses and a black bandana over his mouth and nose.
If you have any information that may assist law enforcement in this case, please contact the FBI at (704) 672-6100 or Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.
