BOONTON NJ July 22 2013 — Over two days, a man stole almosot $1,300 of baby formula from Walmart, Lt. Stephen Jones said.
Officers Michael Gulla and Andre Gibson and Jones responded to a report of a shoplifter running from Walmart security at about noon Monday, Jones said.
Security had identified a man on surveillance footage as having stolen $1,259.08 worth of cans of baby formula on June 29 and 30, according to the lieutenant.
But he ran when guards recognized him in person, Jones said.
The man — Curtis H. Kitchen Jr., 30, of Garfield — was caught and arrested on Wootton Street, according to Jones.
He was charged with shoplifting and sent to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail with a 10-percent option, Jones said.
