Two burglary suspects were in police custody Wednesday night after a brief chase across the city's West side.
According to SAPD, the suspects broke into an apartment complex that is under construction at Loop 1604 and Northwest Military.
A security company responded to the site after a silent alarm was triggered.
Two security guards confronted the men and told them to stop, but they jumped into a white van and backed up towards the security guards.
One of the guards pulled his gun and fired several shots at the van as it sped away, hitting the windows and blowing out a rear tire.
SAPD officers started following the van on Fredericksburg Road but quickly ended the pursuit.
A Bexar County Constable picked up the chase and followed the van to Fulton and Buckeye where the van crashed.
One of the suspects was captured a block away, the other suspect was arrested at another location.
Both men are now facing burglary charges.
