A former Fairfax County high school football coach and teacher pleaded guilty Thursday to dealing anabolic steroids.
Jeffery Scott Reagan, 44, of Bristow, could face up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in March on one count of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.
Reagan had been a coach with the South County High School football team for about five years beginning in 2006, and more recently briefly worked with the West Springfield High School football team.
Reagan also taught at the Mountain View Alternative Learning Center before his arrest.
Fairfax County prosecutor Brandon Shapiro said at Thursday’s hearing that in mid-June Reagan drove from Mountain View to the Sully Plaza Shopping Center, where he arranged a deal with an undercover police officer.
Reagan’s alleged supplier, Jeremy Helbing, of Leesburg, was also arrested as part of the bust. He is scheduled to appear in Fairfax County General District Court on similar drug charges later this month.
At the time of Reagan’s arrest, police said they had no indication Reagan dealt steroids to any students.
