Naples FLA June 9 2013A bouncer at McCabe’s Irish pub was arrested on a grand theft charge Friday after Naples Police say he was videotaped stealing cash from his employer.
Christopher Charles Yates, 23, of the 3500 block of 26th Avenue Southeast, Golden Gate Estates, also was charged with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, after deputies say they found a plastic bag of marijuana while searching him.
Inn on Fifth Owner Phil McCabe called police to report that $325 in cash was removed from the front desk by a man captured on surveillance video, according to an arrest report. The video showed a man walking into the hotel’s lobby at 3:19 a.m. May 26, going through the back office door and to the front desk, where he opened a cash drawer and took cash, reports said.
Police showed the video to community patrol police officers, who recognized him as a bouncer at McCabe’s Irish Pub. Police then obtained videos from the pub on that date, which showed him wearing the same clothing while supervising the pub. Police arrested him Friday, when he arrived to pick up his paycheck.
