BUFFALO, N.Y. June 7 2013 - A Rochester man was stopped at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport Thursday morning with a loaded gun. The Transportation Security Administration says the man was stopped by officers after the officer who was staffing the checkpoint X-ray machine spotted a loaded gun in the man’s carry-on bag. TSA contacted the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Police who responded and cited the man on a disorderly conduct charge.
The FBI confiscated the .380 caliber handgun, which was loaded with six rounds. There was no impact to airport operations.
The man was originally ticketed to fly to Orlando, but missed his flight and was permitted to rebook on a later flight without the gun.
