RICHLAND COUNTY, SC Jan 11 2013 — A gas station employee shot a man suspected of stealing two cases of beer early Tuesday morning, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
The man, identified as 30-year-old Andrew Walker, was shot multiple times by an employee at a Shell station at 7441 Parklane Road after taking the beer from the store without paying, Richland County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Curtis Wilson said. He was taken to Palmetto Health Richland hospital, where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
The employee tried to stop Walker as the man left the store, Wilson said. The employee, armed with a handgun, shot at the man after he got into a car with a second suspect.
