A high school science teacher and wrestling coach is under investigation after he was charged with 15 felony counts of sex crimes against children.
According to records in Gaston County, 44-year-old Gary Goins was booked in the Gaston County jail on Wednesday morning around 8:05 a.m.
He was charged with 14 felony counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child and one felony count of Statutory Rape/ Sex Offense of a child 6 Yrs Old Or Older.
Goins is a teacher and coach at East Gaston High School.
According to the school's website, he taught Earth & Environmental Science, Earth & Environmental Science Honors and Physical Science. He is also listed on the school's website as the high school's wrestling coach.
Goins was arrested by the Gaston County Police Department and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
