Former Va. police chief sentenced to prison www.privateofficer.com

BIG STONE GAP, Va. May 30 2013 (AP) -- A former Pennington Gap police chief convicted on drug and burglary charges will spend nine years in prison.
William Bryan Young also must pay more than $11,000 in restitution.
The 39-year-old Duffield resident was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Big Stone Gap. Young had pleaded guilty in January to charges of drug conspiracy and burglary of a pharmacy.
U.S. Attorney Timothy J. Heaphy says Young engaged in illegal drug transactions and arranged the burglary of a pharmacy while serving as police chief.
Co-defendants Kevin Andrew Young and Chris Miles, both of Duffield pleaded guilty previously to burglary of a pharmacy.
