University City, MO May 9 2013 - An accidental shooting in University City this morning injured a man who was just getting home from work.
Officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Watts around 8:25 a.m. Tuesday after receiving the call about the shooting.
Once police secured the location and made entry, they learned the victim was a security officer who was removing his weapon from the holster when it discharged.
The unidentified victim was struck by the bullet, but did not suffer any serious or life threatening injuries. He was expected to be treated at the scene.
