LOS ANGELES CA April 30 2013 - A 55-year-old teacher at a charter school in unincorporated Willowbrook was out on bail Monday after his arrest for allegedly molesting three girls at the school between October 2012 and last March, authorities said. Detectives arrested Juan Cardoza at his Downey residence Wednesday, said Sgt. Richard Ruiz of the sheriff's Special Victims Bureau. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filed four felony counts of lewd acts with a child and one felony count of annoying or molesting a child, Ruiz said. Bail was set at $320,000 and Cardoza was released Friday, according to the sheriff's inmate records. He's scheduled to appear in Compton Municipal Court May 16, according to the sheriff's department. Cardoza worked at the New Designs Charter School in Willowbrook, Ruiz said. The incidents allegedly occurred at the school between October 2012 and March, 2013 and recently reported to the sheriff's department, he said.
