Mount Vernon, N.Y April 30 2013 Fugitive murder suspect Chauncey Cartier Lampkin, a.k.a. Fresh, was apprehended by police in Mount Vernon, N.Y. early Monday, Spotsylvania County Sheriff Roger L. Harris announced.
The 27-year-old Spotsylvania resident is wanted on five felony warrants in connection with the March 30 shooting death of security guard Marcellus “Bull” Greene at Q-Ball Cafe in Fredericksburg.
"Lampkin was involved in a disturbance in front of a local bar in Mount Vernon," Sheriff Harris said. "He resisted arrest and was forcibly taken into custody after a brief struggle," he said. Lampkin provided a false name to the police, but fingerprint identification exposed his true identity and revealed the warrants against him in Spotsylvania County.
Lampkin was charged by New York authorities with possession of marijuana, resisting arrest and providing false I.D. to law enforcement. He is also being held without bond on the five outstanding warrants stemming from the shooting death. Authorities in Spotsylvania County are currently undertaking extradition proceedings against Lampkin, Harris said.
