Allentown PA April 23 2013 An Allentown man punched a woman repeatedly in the head and used a Taser on a security guard before taking off and driving into a telephone pole early Monday morning, Allentown police said.Manuel Santiago, 30, whose address is not known, is now facing a long list of charges, including robbery, using an incapacitation device and drunken driving, according to court papers. He's being held in Lehigh County Prison under $80,000 bail for the assault case and $3,000 for the drunken-driving case, court records show.
Investigators say Santiago got into an argument with his girlfriend, Marquisha Montgomery, shortly before 1 a.m. at an apartment in the 400 block of Hamilton Street, punching her in the head approximately 10 times, causing a welt on her temple and a cut on her inner cheek.
Security guard Jeremy Green heard a woman screaming and went to help her when Santiago pushed him into a wall, grabbed the guard's Taser and shot Green with it, court papers say. Green fell to the ground and was incapacitated, police said. It wasn't clear where Green works as a security guard.
He also was charged with theft, two counts of simple assault and harassment, receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct, driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle without a valid inspection sticker and careless driving.
