Human Resources, Inc. is headquartered in Honesdale with branch offices in Hawley and Saylorsburg. HRI provides support services to mentally, physically and emotionally challenged individuals. Funding for these services comes from governmental, charitable and individual sources.
Ulises Medina, 57 of East Stroudsburg, was the Director of Supported Employment for the Saylorsburg office of HRI. On February 11th, 2013 HRI personnel discovered that a check in the amount of $5,210.50 that was issued for services rendered was missing.
Investigation revealed that on January 25, 2013 the missing check was deposited into Medina’s personal checking account.
Medina is charged with theft by unlawful taking, a third degree felony, and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, also a third degree felony. Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 15th.
