Carmen Centennial, 39, was just hired in January to work as an English language development teacher at Otero Elementary School in the Springs.
He was arrested by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office on charges of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl multiple times between December 2012 and March.
The school principal and Harrison School District superintendent are working to notify parents individually of the arrest.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jeff Kramer says there’s is no information to suggest there were other victims.
Centennial is in jail on $10,000 bond.
