State troopers are encouraging drivers to slow down.

Authorities said they wrote more than 13,000 tickets for speeding during a week-long operation on state highways.

Troopers ended the campaign last weekend.

They handed out more than 26,000 tickets for traffic
violations. The most were for drivers who were not wearing their
seat belt.

 

NC Highway Patrol said they will continue to be active in enforcement to keep our highways safe.
