Sunnyvale CA April 6 2013 A 29-year-old Sunnyvale preschool teacher was arrested last week on charges of lewd and lascivious acts on a child.
Alejandra Acosta was arrested by plainclothes officers March 26 at 11:22 a.m. at the Champion Kinder International School on Sunnyvale Saratoga Road.
Sunnyvale police received the report from Child Protective Services, according to Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Capt. Dave Pitts. At this point, only one victim has been reported, and he or she was not associated with the preschool where Acosta was arrested.
She was arrested without incident, Pitts said.
Acosta, a Sunnyvale resident, was taken to Santa Clara County Jail and a $50,000 bail was set. The case will be reviewed by the Santa Clara County district attorney's office.
Founded in 2002, the Champion Kinder International School is a youth education company that provides curriculum in Chinese and English for preschoolers and kindergarteners, as well as after-school care.
