Wichita KS April 5 2013
A suspect has been shot and killed by an sheriff's deputy after a credit union robbery in south Wichita.
It began around 7:25 a.m. when Wichita police officers were dispatched to a holdup alarm at the Credit Union of America located in the 1900 block of South Seneca at about 7:25 a.m.
A Sedgwick County sheriff's deputy was already in that area and responded to the call.
He arrived on scene first and saw a man running from the credit union, holding a small handgun. He chased the man, and shots were fired moments later. The suspect was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the credit union was robbed, but it's unclear if the business was open at the time.
