FARMINGTON, Conn. March 28 2013 -- A former coach and teacher at Miss Porter's School in Farmington has been arrested on multiple counts of sexual assault involving a student, police said.The charged against Joseph Prem Rajkumar, 42, include second-degree and fourth degree sexual assault.
According to an online Judicial Department record, the charges relate to incidents that happened in May, 2010; December, 2011; and February, 2012.
It is illegal for teachers to have sex with students according to Connecticut state law.
Rajkumar was arrested Monday. He remains behind bars on $500,000 bond.
He was a teacher at Miss Porter's school from August, 2009, through March 4 of this year, the Hartford Courant reported.
The arrest warrant for Rajkumar has been sealed. He is scheduled to be back before a judge on April 9.
