Police were dispatched at about 4:30 p.m. to dd's Discounts store on Sonoma Boulevard for a report of a shoplifting in progress. Arriving officers saw Antonique Smiley, 18, kicking the security guard. Smiley was confronted by the security guard after allegedly being seen hiding a store item in her person, police said. The officers had a brief struggle with her before taking her into custody. They also determined that Smiley entered the store with the intention of shoplifting because she was not carrying any money, police said. She was arrested and booked into Solano County jail. The security guard sustained minor injuries, police added.
