WALTHAM MA Feb 28 2013 -- A Waltham High School security guard is accused of stealing bomb-making materials from the high school's chemistry storage room.
Jesse Holland, 23, of Gardner, was arrested at 1:16 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Barnes and Noble at Watertown Plaza, reports the Waltham Patch.
A police officer was reportedly doing a check of a nearby building when he noticed a car with its lights off in the parking lot of the bookstore. The officer turned on his spotlight and saw Holland sit up in the driver seat. The 23-year-old then got out of his car and began approaching the officer, but the officer ordered him back to his car.
When the officer approached the car, he saw a metal hatchet and an electric stun gun in the front seat. He also reportedly found an unidentified class A drug.
Police searched Holland's car and found items that include an open bottle of aluminum powder, iron powder, rusted wire, and an emergency jumpstart battery. Mass. State Police confirmed that these items could be used to create a bomb. Holland reportedly admitted to taking the materials from the high school. The 23-year-old works for a security company that does contract work for the high school.
Holland is charged with possession of a stun gun, possession of a class A drug, and possession of an infernal machine (bomb-making materials).
The incident remains under investigation.
