Ricky R. Davis of Lake Worth was arrested Saturday on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, larceny and battery. He was released from jail Sunday after posting $6,000 bond.
Lantana Police were called Friday afternoon to 1414 Lantana Rd. in response to a fight. A security guard with Platinum Security called 911 saying he got into a fight with two people in the parking lot.
Responding officers spoke with the guard, whose name was not released in a police probable cause affidavit. The 40-year-old guard told police that he spotted a silver Isuzu parked in the fire lane in front of the CVS Pharmacy at 1581 W. Lantana Rd.
He asked the driver, later identified as Davis, to move the vehicle. Davis refused and was “rude” and started yelling at the guard, the affidavit says.
The guard then got into his golf cart and traveled to 1414 W. Lantana Rd. The guard soon found out that Davis followed him. He got out of the Isuzu and started threatening the guard. He then spit on his shirt and pants and retrieved a tire iron from the trunk.
Davis allegedly raised the tire iron in the air while yelling at the guard, threatening to hit him with the object. The guard ran away and called 911.
Meanwhile, Davis removed the golf cart key and fled in his vehicle.
Police were able to track down the owner of the vehicle, 43-year-old Felice Stuckey, and spoke with her Saturday.
After speaking with Stuckey police were able to determine that Stuckey’s son was the one driving the vehicle. Davis agreed to meet police at the station.
Davis told them that he went into the CVS and when he came out the passengers in his vehicle told him that they got into a fight with the security guard over the parking spot. Davis said the guard made “racial comments” and so Davis followed him to speak with him and get his name.
The two then got into a heated argument. However, Davis said he never took out the tire iron and never spit on the guard. He “did nothing wrong,” he told police.
Police then found the tire iron, a Louisville Slugger metal baseball bat and a fake $100 bill in the vehicle.
Also, the security guard was able to positively identify Davis in a photo lineup.
